Montague dropped Lady Jacobs at her home and helped her ladyship alight from the carriage. "Thank you for joining me today, my lady. I enjoyed myself immensely, and I will be in contact regarding our trip to Richmond," he said, willing to play the gentleman a little longer.

Her ladyship stepped against him, heedless of those walking on Mount Street on which they stood.

Wolfe looked around, hoping no one could see her advances, and was thankful that no one was present so far.

"Are you not going to come up, Your Grace? After your little promenade with Lady Brassel, I thought you may be eager for release." Her hand reached between them and cupped his cock.

A man, and one who fought desire most of his days, felt nothing at her touch. His cock typically had a mind of its own, standing to attention at the worst times, but not today, it would seem.

Although when he'd been in the copse of trees with Kate, his cock had pressed against his falls so hard he'd been sure the buttons keeping him in check would pop.

He'd like nothing more than to be standing here with Kate, having her hands on his person instead.

"That's it, Montague. Get hard for me and come inside. Let us have a pleasurable afternoon together."

He stepped out of her hold, thinking about how to explain the movement in his pants, not by her, but the very thought of Kate. Somehow, in the past few days, she'd embedded herself into his soul, and he was unsure if he'd ever have enough of her.

"I beg your pardon, but I have a long overdue appointment with my steward." He clasped her hand and placed it on his arm, walking her up the three steps to her door. "I bid you a good afternoon, Lady Jacobs," he said, kissing her gloved hand and removing himself from her person.

He climbed into his curricle, flicked the reins to his matched bays, and started toward Berkeley Square. Surely, by now, Kate would be home after her stroll in the park.

The day was warm, and he was certain ladies did not like to stay out in the sun too long for fear of gaining freckles.

It took him only a short time through the streets of Mayfair to arrive at her residence, and he drove his carriage to the mews at the back of the house. He had promised her secrecy, and he would attempt that at all costs. By the time he ambled to the square, he observed her friend's carriage rolling away and Kate entering the house.

He waited several minutes to ensure no one was about before he knocked on the door. Her footman, a man of similar age to Wolfe, answered and took his card before walking upstairs.

Wolfe kicked his heels in the foyer before movement at the top of the stairs caught his attention. He fought to keep the breath in his lungs at the sight of Kate, changed into a soft-blue afternoon gown, one that was for lounging around at home and when one did not expect callers.
